On finding out I was pregnant I knew the products I used on my new baby would be as natural as possible. I distinctly remember a conversation with my mum, where she looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wouldn't be using Johnson's talcum powder or baby oil.
For the first 6 weeks I only used warm water and olive oil. Newborn baby skin is so delicate and I wanted it to settle in before exposing her to anything more.
I was lucky enough to be sent some lovely Weleda products to try and on Mia's 6 week birthday we set about having a lovely bath using some of them. I'm not sure if it was the warm bath or the body wash but Mia fell straight to sleep ; ) RESULT!
With a mild scent of calendula and the creamy consistency, it is super soft and gentle. Mia also has a tendency to try and drink the bath water and although I don't actively encourage her to do so, having looked at the ingredients, I don't have to worry about there being lots of hidden nasties.
My hands-down favourite product is the Calendula Oil. I'm a big fan of oils for both hair and body, I swear by Sweet Almond Oil for helping me to come out of pregnancy stretch-mark free. The Weleda Calendula Oil soaks in nicely and is moisturising without being too thick, which was my main issue with olive oil. It's got a nice scent and is great for practising baby massage.
To this day, nearly 18 months later, Weleda products remain part of my baby and now toddler must-haves.
